About Us
At The Giving Tree, we design and manufacture handcrafted souvenir gifts.
Since 2002, The Giving Tree has been creating thoughtfully curated India-inspired souvenirs that celebrate our culture, craftsmanship, and heritage.
Every souvenir we create tells a story—of India’s rich traditions, skilled artisans, and timeless artistry. Proudly made in India, our collections are designed to leave visitors, delegates, clients, and global travellers with a meaningful keepsake that lasts long after the journey ends. For over two decades, we’ve partnered with organisations across the world to create souvenirs that inspire connection, celebrate India, and turn every gift into a memorable experience.
Co-Founders
Mala S & Leena Munot
For us, India has always been more than a country—it’s a beautiful collection of stories, traditions, colours, craftsmanship, and people. That love for everything Indian is at the heart of everything we create.
We also believe that beautiful products shouldn’t come at the cost of our planet. Wherever possible, we choose handcrafted, thoughtful, and earth-friendly materials and work with partners who share our values. Over the years, we’ve learned that the best relationships are built on trust, kindness, and collaboration. Our artisans, suppliers, reseller partners, clients, and team have all been an important part of our journey, and we are deeply grateful for each one of them.
More than building a business, our dream has always been to help people experience the warmth, creativity, and spirit of India through souvenirs that are made with heart. If every gift leaves someone smiling and feeling a little more connected to India, we know we’ve done our job well.
Deepa Shah
Every great story has people who quietly bring it to life, and for us, that person is Deepa Shah. Our resident Design Diva, she has an incredible ability to take the simplest thought and turn it into something that people instantly connect with. Every illustration, every colour palette, every product detail and every brand experience carries her signature touch.
Founder of Design Souk, a Bangalore-based design studio, Deepa is largely self-taught, endlessly curious, and blessed with an extraordinary eye for detail. Her warmth, patience, and perfectionism make her an irreplaceable part of our journey. She doesn’t just design products—she gives them a personality and a story.
And yes… our shared love for a traditional banana leaf meal has probably sealed this partnership forever. To us, Deepa is far more than our design partner. She is family, and the creative soul behind so much of what makes Souvenirs of India feel uniquely ours.
Amar Krishnamurthy
Every journey needs someone who sees possibilities long before you do. For us, that person is Amar. A dear friend, trusted mentor, and relentless believer in our potential, Amar has this uncanny ability to challenge every assumption and gently nudge us far beyond our comfort zone. Just when we think we’ve reached the finish line, he reminds us that it’s probably the starting point.
It was his vision and encouragement that inspired one of the biggest turning points in our journey—the evolution of The Giving Tree into Souvenirs of India by The Giving Tree. He helped us see that we weren’t simply making gifts; we were sharing India’s stories with the world. He also played a pivotal role in helping us build our reseller-first business model, opening up an exciting new chapter of growth.
What we admire most about Amar is the way he thinks. He has an incredible gift for making complex problems feel surprisingly simple. Whether it’s strategy, numbers, systems, or innovation, he always brings clarity, perspective, and a fresh way of looking at things. Every conversation leaves us with pages of notes, a dozen new ideas, and the courage to experiment.
More than a mentor, Amar has been a constant source of belief, encouragement, and wisdom. His fingerprints are quietly woven into some of the biggest decisions we’ve made, and Souvenirs of India simply wouldn’t be the brand it is today without his guidance.
